About role
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with deep frontend expertise in Angular, React
[ and TypeScript to build and scale the web experiences behind Keka’s product suite. You will own the frontend architecture of a product area end to end — from design discussion through production rollout and the telemetry that tells us it works.
This is a front-end-depth role with backend fluency. You will spend most of your time in Angular and TypeScript, and you are expected to be comfortable in our C#/.NET services — enough to read a controller, understand the data model, and shape an API contract in design review rather than accept whatever is handed over.
You will work closely with Product, Design, and Backend engineers, and your technical decisions will be adopted by the engineers around you.
Responsibilities
- Own the frontend architecture of your product area — module boundaries, component contracts, and data flow.
- Build responsive, reusable, and accessible interface components using Angular, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS/SCSS.
- Select state management approaches deliberately based on the use case, and document the reasoning behind the choice.
- Write architecture decision records for non-trivial decisions and defend the trade-offs in technical review.
- Consume and extend the Keka Design System correctly, contributing components back to the system instead of forking locally.
- Own bundle analysis and runtime performance for your surface — lazy loading, change detection strategy, list virtualisation, and memory profiling for long-lived screens.
- Ensure responsive behaviour across existing product surfaces, including dense, data-heavy screens that must remain usable on smaller viewports.
- Treat accessibility as a functional requirement and build to WCAG 2.1 AA standards.
- Apply frontend security fundamentals: input sanitisation and XSS prevention, content security policy, safe token handling, and dependency hygiene.
- Write meaningful unit and component tests, participate in code reviews, and raise the engineering standard within the team.
- Ship behind feature flags with a rollback path defined before release, not after an incident.
- Instrument features so that production behaviour is observable — errors, real-user performance, and key user journeys — and debug from telemetry rather than waiting for a reproduction.
- Work confidently in Git-based development workflows and CI/CD pipelines, and extend them when the work requires it.
- Read and modify the C#/.NET services behind your features, integrate REST APIs, and push back on contracts that would push avoidable complexity into the client.
- Partner with Product and Design from problem definition onwards, translating business requirements into technical solutions.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex technical issues across the frontend stack.
- Mentor engineers through code review, pairing, and design discussion, and contribute to engineering best practices.
Required Skills
- 4 to 7 years of experience building production web applications, with at least three years in a modern component framework at meaningful scale. Angular is preferred.
- Depth in TypeScript, RxJS, and modern Angular — standalone components, dependency injection, change detection, and reactive patterns.
- Strong grasp of browser and web platform fundamentals: rendering, the event loop, and memory management.
- Hands-on experience building large-scale, enterprise-grade web applications, ideally within a monorepo setup such as Nx, with a working understanding of module boundaries and build performance at scale.
- Experience contributing to a design system or shared component library, and awareness of micro frontend architectures and where their trade-offs apply.
- Demonstrated performance engineering. You can walk through a real investigation end to end — the symptom, the tooling, the hypothesis that turned out to be wrong, and the fix.
- A clear point of view on state management, with the ability to justify a choice for a specific use case rather than in the abstract.
- Practical accessibility experience, including auditing interfaces against WCAG standards rather than treating accessibility as a final pass.
- A considered testing philosophy — what belongs in unit tests, component tests, and end-to-end tests, and why.
- Working proficiency in C# and .NET to the level of reading and modifying controllers and DTOs, and integrating REST APIs. Familiarity with SQL Server and relational database concepts.
- Familiarity with Git-based workflows, CI/CD pipelines, modern DevOps practices, and cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.
- Exposure to feature flagging, progressive delivery, and frontend observability tooling such as Sentry, Application Insights, or Datadog.
- Solid fundamentals in object-oriented programming, SOLID principles, data structures, algorithms, and design patterns, applied pragmatically.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to take ownership of features and deliver end to end, with strong communication and collaboration skills in a cross-functional environment.
